Meeting Objective: VLPNO Board Updates 

The following board members/attendees were present: Scott Turner, Kevin Comer, Gustav Swanson, Kermit Ferrer, Steve Orr, Patsy Marino

Saturday, May 1st meeting was held at 616 N High Rod (Patsy Marino’s Home) following SD practices and virtually via MSTeams due to COVID-19 

Meeting Opening 

  • Board discussed purpose of meeting: Establish projects that will support VLPNO mission and discuss potential $ funding/sourcing to support these projects that would be revenue neutral

  • Reviewed VLPNO Mission Statement:

The mission of the Vista Las Palmas Neighborhood Organization (VLPNO) is to foster an appreciation of our architectural heritage and to strengthen the quality of life for all of our residents through communication, neighborhood projects, and ____.

  • Discussed what type of organization we want to be

  • Agreed that we have an opportunity to be more impactful.

  • Evaluate each initiative based on Effort vs Impact.

  • Noted that to date, there are only 51 VLPNO members

Four (4) Focus Project Areas:

Based on VLPNO mission statement, the Board agreed to focus our Fundraising and Activities on the following 4 focus areas (in no particular order)

  • Architectural / Historical Heritage

  • Communication

  • Social Events

  • Neighborhood and Community projects (that create a sense of community)

Project Assignments:
